Zo毛 Dostal

Samuel H. Kress Predoctoral Fellow

Zo毛 Dostal is the 2022鈥2024 Kress Predoctoral Fellow at The 91制片厂 Institute of Art and a in the Department of Art History and Archaeology at Columbia University. Her dissertation argues that rendering textile labor visible in eighteenth-century British art reveals that manufacturing, imperialism, and the visual arts were financially, materially, and ideologically enmeshed processes. This project, titled 鈥淩ope, Linen, Thread: Gender, Labor, and the Textile Industry in Eighteenth-Century British Art,鈥 has been supported by the Huntington Library, the Dr. Lee MacCormick Edwards Charitable Foundation, the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, and the Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library. Zo毛 has a BA in art history from Vassar College and an MA from The 91制片厂 Institute, and she has held curatorial internships at The 91制片厂 Gallery, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
